Support for your child comes in two steps:
1. Evaluation
Before starting therapy, I take time to clearly understand how your child learns and where they are experiencing difficulty across the domains of speech, language, and literacy. For most families, this begins with a comprehensive evaluation.* A typical evaluation costs $400 and includes:
A 2-3 hour evaluation, either in-person at your home or via Zoom for Healthcare
A detailed written report with diagnostic impressions and practical recommendations
A one-on-one results conference to review findings and plan next steps together
*If your child has a recent psychological or speech-language evaluation, we may be able to use that information and either forgo a full evaluation or complete a reduced assessment to address any remaining gaps.
2. Intervention
Speech-language therapy at Carmel Language & Literacy targets the areas of need identified in your child’s initial evaluation. If this includes written language (reading, spelling, etc.), your child may receive structured literacy support embedded within their language therapy.
