Avery Walker, M.S., CCC-SLP Owner/Clinician

Avery is the founder of Carmel Language & Literacy and the solo clinician. He is from Carmel, Indiana, and is an alumnus of University High School. He obtained his B.S. in Speech & Hearing Sciences from Indiana University in 2018 and M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from Rush University in 2021. He has over 3,000 hours of specialized clinical experience working with clients that have co-occurring Developmental Language Disorders (DLD) and Dyslexia, and has worked in both school and private practice settings with children of all ages. He honed his experience as a literacy specialist in Wasilla, Alaska, where his wife completed her graduate degree. In his pre-professional years, Avery was a camp counselor and unit director at Flat Rock River YMCA Camp in St. Paul, IN. In his free time, he is an avid runner, football fan, and home cook.
